So my husband is out of town. I thought I'd be hip mom and take Savannah to Central Market for dinner and some playground time. Dinner was great - we got gelato afterwards and then settled in for some playground time.
I was chasing after her on the playground. We were playing this game where I'd sneak up on her and scare her - she loves it. However, I misjudged a height and cracked the heck out of my head on a metal support. There was blood, there were paramedics, there was a nauseous Shannon. It was all very horrible and totally scary as I had no support at home.
THANK YOU to the lovely strangers at Central Market that took care of me and my daughter. THANK YOU to my wonderful neighbors who checked on me all night. Seriously, Texans are the best - THE BEST!!!
I am in general OK - I have a massive headache. I, of course, took pictures of my bloody head and will get around to posting them soon, but I wanted to let you know that in addition to a concussed head, I will be taking a little R&R week around here. It was actually planned in advance, but I'll be a bit slow on email and phone calls.
As always, please call if there are any photography related emergencies. You know I'm happy to chat with any of you!
~Shannon

Yikes! Glad you are ok! You have to watch out for those metal beams, especially Texas ones as they habit of jumping out and biting people's heads.
Stupid metal beam! (as Brandon would say).
Wow! Traumatic! Don't worry, we all do something like that from time to time. Sounds like you really smacked yourself! Hopefully, it didn't knock any photography skills out of you. :)
Stupid Metal Beam indeed!!! Brandon's my kind of kid.
Paul, I'm hoping I got some new mad skills knocked into me!!!
You know, if you did get some mad skills knocked into you, I see a whole new business opportunity. The Shannon Cunningham School of Photography."

Whoa, glad you're ok. They need to have a playground safety class for us young parents.
I'm so sorry to hear about your accident, Shannon! I hope you are taking plenty of time to rest and recuperate.
OH my gosh, Shannon!!!! I hope you're doing better. I go out of town for one week, and look what happens! Let me know if you need Stace to bring you some soups. :)
