A bit of news from me!
I got some exciting news on Friday. I found out that I was accepted into the
Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). This is a prestigious wedding
photography organization that accepts only a small percentage of photographers
that apply. This is professionally and personally a very gratifying moment for
me and I wanted to share it with all of you! Thanks to all of my clients for
letting my do what I do.
Here's what they have to say about themselves. (from the WPJA.com website):
"The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), an International, membership-based organization, represents professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. The WPJA was founded to uphold excellence in the area of wedding photojournalism.
Leading the way in Wedding Photojournalism, WPJA represents the most
discriminating talent around the world technically, creatively and visually.
Qualified members hold industry-leading standards, skills and business
integrity."I highly recommend checking out their website. There are some amazing images to view. I've also added them as a link over at the right. They also publish an awesome online wedding photography magazine called Wedpix. I will soon add a link to that as well.
Just wanted to share - hope all of you had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there.

Trashing the Dress: The Bridal 2.0
The Bridal 2.0, aka, Trash the Dress session is a new offering from Shannon Cunningham Photography. I shoot you in your wedding gown on location without the pre-wedding worry of getting a speck of dirt on your dress. This session is edgier and more adventurous than the traditional bridal session and is shot after the wedding.
Keep in mind that you don't have to literally 'Trash' your beautiful gown. In fact, we probably won't. This session gives you and I a chance to try some more dramatic and risk taking ideas- maybe something more urban, an unexpected location, or maybe just laying down on the grass with the autumn leaves all around you. It's not rolling in the mud just for the sake of it.
I'm currently looking for brides (or former brides or clients that just want to have some fun and make some tremendous images. I don't have to have shot your wedding.) that are interested in a Bridal 2.0 shoot.
The first five people to sign up will receive a complimentary session plus some other fun stuff.
Come on, that dress is just sitting in the closet. Let's go have some fun!
